FORMER Hawthorn and Gold Coast hardman Campbell Brown doesn’t mince words.
And he’s launched a stinging attack on former Suns teammate Gary Ablett after the star midfielder took extra time-off and missed day one of pre-season training.

NEW RECRUIT: BARLOW SEES BRIGHT FUTURE WITH SUNS
It comes after revelations Ablett requested a trade back to Geelong during the AFL trade period due to personal reasons.
The Suns quickly rejected the idea.

The Suns skipper was granted a longer break for his delayed honeymoon after getting married on New Year’s Day this year.
However, Brown wasn’t impressed given Ablett hadn’t played since Round 16.
“My mail Suns players filthy Gaz, who messaged all reaffirming commitment 2 club after requesting trade, hasn't return for day 1 pre season,” Brown tweeted.

Ablett responded on Twitter a few hours later with a simple message; “mate, you’ve got my number.”
Former Port Adelaide star Kane Cornes tried to defend Ablett, saying: “I'm not sure they can be too angry, he's carried them for 6 years.”
But Brown stuck to his guns, pointing to Hawthorn premiership teammate Luke Hodge’s early return to training as an example of leadership and positive club culture.

“He didn't play after r16, requests trade, been on holidays for 10 weeks. Why take another week and miss day 1 of pre season,” he tweeted.
“Hodgey back two weeks early to train with young guys = successful club.”
Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury and Richmond skipper Trent Cotchin have also returned to pre-season training early ahead of the 2017 season.
