Ryan Nyhuis kicks four goals for Fremantle in incredible AFL debut

RYAN Nyhuis wasn’t even meant to play against North Melbourne.
The Fremantle rookie got the call from Ross Lyon on Sunday morning to say he was a late inclusion after David Mundy fell ill.

Nyhuis, recruited from Nightcliff in the Northern Territory with pick 34 in the 2016 rookie draft, had played as a defender throughout his junior career and was handed an unfamiliar role in attack with the task of nullifying Robbie Tarrant.
What followed was the stuff of fairytales.
Nyhuis joined the small but growing club of players to kick a goal with their first kick in AFL footy in the first quarter and booted three more for the match, including a curling shot from outside 50 in the final term and the set shot that put Freo in front with only minutes left.
His effort impressed watchers around the country but his No.1 fan is clearly teammate Matthew Uebergang.
A fellow Dockers rookie yet to make his AFL debut, Uebergang is out with a hamstring injury and clearly has a bit of time on his hands. But not enough to master Photoshop.

We think it’s a reference to Flo Rida’s song “My House” — that’s the US rapper in the bottom left of screen.
We’re not sure that will be printed out and framed for Nyhuis’s pool room. Although maybe it should be.
