DYSON HEPPELL has learnt about the perils of live television the hard way, after this unfortunate slip of the tongue while appearing on AFL 360 last night.

Speaking with Brian Lake and the Herald Sun’s Mark Robinson, Heppell said: “I’m probably the furthest from a melee kind of guy...I’m the one that tries to pull blokes off,” before quickly realising the error of his ways and barely finishing his sentence before exclaiming “Oh! We’ll stop that there.”

The faux pas did not go unnoticed by fans and one of his Essendon teammates who took to social media immediately after the blunder.

“Ultimate team man,” Adam Cooney wrote.
