Top AFL manager Liam Pickering has thrown his hat in the ring for Collingwood’s Jordan De Goey.
The Magpies star has split with his manager Ben Niall.
Pickering, from Precision Sports and Entertainment Group, manages the likes of Gary Ablett, Jack Riewoldt, Darcy Moore and Dane Swan. He said today De Goey was hot property.
“It’s all happened pretty quickly but we’ll have a chat to Jordy, for sure,’’ Pickering said.
“He’s one of the game’s most exciting players. There seems to be a fair bit of movement at the moment.”
De Goey, who is out of contract at the end of this year, will be one of the most in-demand signatures of the season.
Yesterday, Dustin Martin’s agent Ralph Carr says he’d gladly take on the Collingwood goalkicker.
Carr, who negotiated Martin’s monster contract of up to $1.3 million a year in 2017, would be happy to represent the Magpie ace.
“I haven’t met with Jordan DeGoey, but I know my name has been linked to him now he has left his manager,” Carr said.
“I don’t chase players but I am open to every elite athlete in this country, so I’m happy to talk to him.

“I think I can be of benefit to the elite players on and off the field, as I have been to Dustin Martin.
“I’d rather do a smaller number of athletes and do them properly than have a lot of players, I want to keep this a boutique company.”
Former AFL player Pickering is turning his hand to coaching opposed to Premiership coach Denis Pagan in a city versus country jockey challenge at Flemington’s Twilight Race Day this Sunday.
