Collingwood is confident Darcy Moore and Jamie Elliott have taken plenty of learnings from their fact-finding mission to Germany to see world-renowned hamstring specialist Dr Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt last month.
The pair were plagued by soft-tissue injuries this year, with Moore playing only seven games, while Elliott failed to play a match after pre-season ankle surgery followed by a string of hamstring issues.

Both returned to the training track on Friday after flying home earlier in the week, and will be alongside the rest of the main group which will begin its 2019 pre-season campaign at the Holden Centre on Monday.
Moore, who failed in a bid to prove his fitness late in Collingwood’s finals campaign, and Elliott would almost be virtual recruits for the Magpies if they can win the battle with their bodies next year.
They have told the Magpies their trip to see Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt — who has treated former Cat Max Rooke, Magpie Ben Reid and Tiger Dylan Grimes — provided clarity surrounding their loads both for the pre-season ahead and the season proper.
Magpies football chief Geoff Walsh told the club’s recent members’ form that Collingwood hoped the trip might prove to be a “watershed moment” for both players as they look to re-establish themselves after a frustrating 2018 season.
