COLLINGWOOD has identified Port Adelaide’s daring run and inside grunt as the two indicators the Magpies need to stopped to secure a win at the MCG on Saturday.

The Magpies consider the match against the Power a must-win affair as they seek to climb from a losing 5-7 record to finals contention.

But midfielder Taylor Adams said they were confident they had identified the main threats the Power will bring on its trip to Melbourne.

“They’re playing some really, really good footy, Port,” Adams said.

“I love watching them at the moment: offence and defence and they’ve got some bulls in the middle.

“It’s going to be a huge challenge for us. Contested ball game and they move the ball quickly and score an average of 110 points a game.

“Huge challenge for us inside midfield and also to defend their bounce off the backline.

“But we’ve been playing some pretty good footy.

“It’s pretty simple for us. For the rest of the year, win games and we’ll play finals.

“This is a must-win games for us, as most of them are.

“We can only afford to slip up maybe once or twice for the rest of the year.

“We’d like to be 7-5 instead of 5-7 but we’ve put ourselves in that position and we’re confident we can find our way out of it.”
