The incident left Riewoldt on the ground for a short period of time.
However, he eventually got up and waved the Tiger trainers away.
Brown was having none of suggestions Jones should only cop a fine, instead calling on the MRO to set the standard for the rest of the year.
“How is the AFL going to set a precedent with a thousand bucks (fine)?” he said on Fox Footy.
“This is your moment to set the standard for the rest of the year. Don’t play dumb football. That is dumb football.”
Premiership coach Paul Roos agreed Jones should be suspended.
“It is 20 metres off the ball. He doesn’t play at all for me next week.”
Nick Riewoldt said the act was not on.
“When you’re 30 metres off the ball, you can’t have somebody bumping you like that, even if it’s not head high,” he said on AFL Nation.
