Charlie Curnow has sent a scare through the Carlton camp after his knee buckled in a contest against Port Adelaide on Saturday.

Charlie Curnow has sent a scare through the Carlton camp after his knee buckled in a contest against Port Adelaide on Saturday.

Curnow limped from the field in the opening quarter of the match after clashing with Port Adelaide defender Dan Houston.

He clutched at his right knee but immediately got to his feet but was taken to the rooms to be assessed.

“It was a huge scare,” commentator Darryl Wakelin said.

Curnow was back on the bench minutes later and was seen running the boundary but has reportedly been ruled out for the rest of the match as a precaution by the Blues.

Former skipper Marc Murphy was hurt when he was sandwiched between Sam Powell-Pepper and Zak Butters in a marking contest.

He returned to the field late in the second quarter.

Carlton made a bright start to the match and led by six points at quarter-time, but two goals from first-round draftee Connor Rozee has swung momentum in Port Adelaide’s favour during the second term.
