Never fear, Lions supporters. Should your boys lose to the Tigers at the MCG today, Brisbane will flip the script and host Richmond at the Gabba in the first week of finals.
It would be Richmond’s first game away from the MCG since Round 16 when they played the Suns on the Gold Coast.
The qualifying final would likely be played on the Saturday night, featuring as the last game of the opening week of finals.
If the Western Bulldogs defeat Adelaide and Richmond topples Brisbane this afternoon it would mean the Geelong would finish the season as minor premier.

The Cats would host a blockbuster Friday night qualifying final against Collingwood at the MCG. There is no chance that game would be played at GMHBA Stadium — much to Chris Scott’s frustration.
The AFL is keen to play a Thursday night interstate final, most likely between fifth-placed West Coast and eighth-placed Essendon. The Eagles played the Western Bulldogs in a Thursday night final in 2016.

The GWS Giants would then host the Bulldogs on Saturday at Giants Stadium.

Thursday night: West Coast Eagles v Essendon (Perth)
Friday night: Geelong v Collingwood (MCG)
Saturday: GWS Giants v Western Bulldogs (Giants)
Saturday night: Brisbane v Richmond (Gabba)
