After an incredible weekend of boilovers in Round 1, the Kiss of Death remarkably finds himself at the top of the Herald Sun’s tipping leaderboard along with Gerard Whateley.
Even two-time tipping champion Chris Cavanagh struggled, the man known as Black Cavanagh still stuck at the barriers after picking Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, West Coast, Essendon and North Melbourne.

Another difficult round of tipping awaits in Round 2, with Richmond and Collingwood opening the long weekend of football with a blockbuster Thursday night match.
Port Adelaide appears the safest choice of the round at home against Carlton, while Fremantle will be favoured to start the season with consecutive wins on the Gold Coast.
But if Round 1 taught us anything, it’s to expect the unexpected early in an AFL season.
