Taylor interviewed Adelaide midfielder Brad Crouch in the rooms after the Crows’ 21-point win against Geelong.

BT quizzed the gun onballer about an incident just before three-quarter time when he copped a knock to the face.

“What about your cheekbone, you looked to be a little bit concerned at three-quarter time?” Taylor asked.

“Yeah, it’s got a bit of a dint in it,” Crouch said. “I’ll see how it comes up, I think I’ll have to have some surgery on it early in the week but hopefully I don’t miss any games.”

Taylor observed that Crouch’s teammate Rory Atkins was involved in the three-quarter time discussion.

“He said, ‘You’ve got a hole in your face’, so it wasn’t the best news,” Crouch said. “But I had a quick look in the mirror before and it doesn’t look too bad.”

Crows coach Don Pyke later revealed that Crouch played out the game with a fractured cheekbone, lauding his bravery.

But Taylor’s attention had already moved to Crouch’s brother and teammate Matt and their home life together: “I’ve heard the girls do all the work, is that true?”

After an interview with basketball convert Hugh Greenwood and his “idiot mates” who travelled from the US for the game, BT finished his segment, signing off to hosts Hamish McLachlan, Cameron Ling and Wayne Carey.

McLachlan threw in a quick question: “Before we let you go, did Brad Crouch say to you that he’s going to have surgery this week or did I mishear that?”

“Did he say that, did he? The guy that I interviewed?” Taylor replied.

“I’m not worrying about the interview I’m doing, I’m worried about the next one I’m trying to find.

“It did have a slight indent in it, I must admit.”
