ADELAIDE list manager Justin Reid says it’s “very unlikely” contracted forward Charlie Cameron will be traded to Brisbane while the Crows are in the premiership window.

Not even the Lions’ Pick 12 is likely to satisfy Adelaide that wants Cameron to help the club return to the AFL grand final next year.

“Pick 12 doesn’t have 70 games behind them, so Pick 12 ain’t going to help me next year,” Reid said on AFL Trade Radio on Monday morning.

“You’d have to ask Brisbane I guess (what would get a deal done).

“You consider all options but at the end of the day he’s a contracted player and Charlie has a good relationship with the football club, so I don’t think anything is going to change there.

“It’s not holding our position, Charlie will help us next year, we want to get to the last week of September again and Charlie will play 20-25 games for us and help us get there again.

“That’s how we look at the value for us - the next 12 months - not what the value is right now.”

Reid also said Cameron had a good relationship with the Crows and did not have an issue with the club or coach.

“Charlie is a 70-game player and has a good relationship with the club and coach, so we’ll work through the next week but Brisbane are pretty clear where we sit - unless we get something through the door it’s very unlikely Charlie Cameron will be anywhere else other than the Adelaide Footy Club next year,” Reid said.

Reid was also asked about Bryce Gibbs but refused to comment on whether Adelaide still wanted the Carlton midfielder to come home.

“It would be disrespectful, he’s a contracted player,” Reid said.

“It would be wrong of me to say anything about Bryce.

“If there’s an opportunity for any club and it fits both clubs and it’s a win, win, all clubs would always look at (it).

“It (last year’s trade talks) doesn’t break down, you shake hands and both walk away, so we’ve (Adelaide and Carlton) got a good relationship.

“I think we’ve all moved on from that.”
