Don't miss out on the headlines from Supercoach. Followed categories will be added to My News.
YES, Patrick Dangerfield and Nat Fyfe scored well but we already knew they would — they should already be locked away in your team.
But here are a number of other midfielders who impressed The Phantom across the JLT Series.

PREMIUMS
Adam Treloar (Collingwood) $605,400
JLT SCORES: dnp, 105, 126
On February 14, The Phantom declared that this was the year Scott Pendlebury’s reign as Collingwood’s SuperCoach king comes to an end.
And the pre-season competition has only reinforced this opinion.
The 23-year-old Treloar posted two SuperCoach tons in his two games, without getting out of second or third gear.
While Pendlebury is still the Rolls Royce, Treloar’s sheer weight of numbers will see him eclipse his skipper by season’s end
Callan Ward (GWS) $574,500
JLT SCORES: dnp, 120, 111
With a midfield stacked with young talent, the SuperCoach community has seemingly forgotten about the 26-year-old.
The Giants’ co-captain, who is only in 2.7 per cent of teams, is shaping as a nice point-of-difference after reminding us all of his scoring power during the JLT Series.
Tom Mitchell (Hawthorn) $565,600
JLT SCORES: dnp, 119, 109
The ball-magnet has averaged more than 104 SuperCoach in the past two seasons, despite not being among the top-three midfielders in his own team.
While his importance was unquestionable, Mitchell often played second-fiddle in a star-studded Sydney midfield.
But, now, at the Hawks, he’s the main man and led the engine room in the JLT Series. Expect his average to climb towards 110.
MID-PRICE
Josh Kelly (GWS) $473,800
JLT SCORES: 151, 87, 101
When the 2017 SuperCoach team-picker opened late last year, Kelly was one of the first picked in The Phantom’s side.
His position wasn’t guaranteed at the point but after averaging 113 in the JLT Series and, more importantly, playing a major role in the Giants’ midfield — even on the inside — Kelly is absolutely locked away.
Dayne Beams (Brisbane Lions) $432,500
JLT SCORES: dnp, 105, 114
All eyes were on the new Brisbane skipper as he made his long-awaited return against the Bulldogs in the Lions’ second game of the pre-season.
And Beams couldn’t have done anymore, finishing with 24 disposals and 105 points. If that wasn’t convincing enough, Beams had the footy on a string against the Crows a week later, collecting 35 possessions and 114 points.
If he can stay on the park, expect these numbers on a weekly basis.
Clayton Oliver (Melbourne) $382,500
JLT SCORES: 101, 103, 122
Melbourne’s young midfield bull is set for a breakout year.
With three SuperCoach tons from three outings in the JLT Series — all on limited game time — Oliver’s scoring power his obvious.
But, at the price, the contested-ball beast is still a risky selection.
While he should become a mainstay in our teams in the future, is 2017 too early?
ROOKIE-PRICE
Sam Powell-Pepper (Port Adelaide) $135,300
JLT SCORES: 56, 71, 82
While the JLT Series didn’t reveal a host of quality rookie-price midfielders, it did give us one.
And, by the looks of it, a very, very good one.
Powell-Pepper has impressed with his strength and attack on the ball and body from the first day he walked into Alberton.
His three pre-season games reinforced what we already knew; the 19-year-old is well-and-truly ready to go.
