DYNAMITE ruckman Max Gawn says SuperCoach players should wait another week before trading him into their teams.

Gawn returned from 12 weeks on the sidelines with a score of 113 against West Coast, but Sydney under lights at the MCG looms as the litmus test for the All-Australian big man.

STUDS AND DUDS: IS NANK’S TANK EMPTY?

“I think my break-even was around 200 this week so I might have gone down a tiny bit,” Gawn said today.

“Who have we got? Sydney. Maybe (wait) another week.”

Almost 700 SuperCoaches traded Gawn in unseen last week and another 811 made the move as soon as lockout ended.

Gawn dropped $44,100 after his return game and faces a severe price cut with his break-even still at 184.

He should be available for about $520,000 and could be a perfect swap for Richmond big man Toby Nankervis, who appears to have hit the wall.

After reaching a season-high value of $485,100 after Round 1, Nankervis has fallen to $423,400 and is set to drop further with a break-even of 115 against Port Adelaide and Paddy Ryder on Saturday night.

But with Gawn projected to lose about $25,000 more than Nankervis, the Demons’ ruckman’s advice is on the money. Just hope Nankervis isn’t rested.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: JONATHON PATTON

Patton was the most dominant player for the round on the back of a season-high 156 SuperCoach points against Brisbane. He finished with career-highs of 23 disposals and 13 marks, including six contested. He also booted four goals and recorded two score assists and an equal game-high 13 score involvements.

CHAMPION DATA MARKET WATCH

Marcus Bontempelli

Bontempelli bounced back after a run of several subpar performances to collect 139 SuperCoach points against the Kangaroos — his highest score since Round 6. He finished with 28 disposals, 13 contested possessions, eight clearances, 10 tackles and seven inside-50s. He also chipped in with one goal and recorded three score assists.

Dayne Zorko

For one of the very few times in his career, Zorko was tagged out of the game and could only manage five disposals — his second-fewest in any match on record. Scoring a dismal 51 SuperCoach points, he excelled defensively however, applying a game-high nine tackles from 18 tackle attempts.

Patrick Cripps

With only seven SuperCoach points to his name at quarter time, Cripps lifted his output thereafter to finish with 134 points from 86 per cent game time. He won five more pre-clearance disposals (14) than any other player on the ground — with each of his possessions won in a contest. Cripps also recorded game-highs of 10 clearances and eight tackles.

YOUNG GUN: JAMES PARSONS

Parsons played a key role in Geelong’s come-from-behind win over Fremantle, scoring a season-high 82 SuperCoach points, jumping in value by $28,500 in the process. He had a major impact on the scoreboard and was just one of three Cats to boot multiple goals with two majors, while also recording two score assists and six score involvements.
