LET’S GO SHOPPING
DEFENDERS
Jack Crisp (Col) $525,400 DEF | Av 98 | BE 91
That’s five tons in his last six — and the other was 97 — making Crisp, with a five-round average of 110.2 one of the form defenders in the competition. The Pies are flying and he’s become somewhat of a talisman in their winning run.
Jeremy Howe (Col) $474,300 DEF | Av 96.5 | BE 92
It’s Pie time for defenders this week. I know Howe burnt a lot of SuperCoaches in the past month, but he finally looks healthy and churned out 118 on the weekend. He’s got a break even of 92, which you’d imagine he’ll easily exceed against the toothless Suns. Buy now.
Jarrod Harbrow (GCS) $457,500 DEF | Av 85 | BE 70
Three tons in his past five and Harbrow is about the only Sun who can hold his head high through their wretched run. Is the only Sun to average better than 100 across the past five games and you’d imagine he’s going to have plenty more work to do.
Luke Hodge (Bri) $406,500 DEF | Av 96.5 | BE 21
Looking for a dirt-cheap D6 with a solid SuperCoach career behind him? Look no further than the Hawthorn-now-Brisbane champion. I stress this is only for sides that are stacked across the board and without the funds to get a genuine premium, but Hodgie’s 164 against the Giants on the weekend looked ominous and it’s the cheapest he’s going to get.
MIDFIELDERS
Patrick Cripps (Car) $544,800 MID | Av 117.5 | BE 34
Still dirt cheap after churning out a ridiculous 187 against the Pies, if you don’t have Patrick Cripps, get him... NOW! This is his bottom price from here on in. He’s a gun.
Josh Kelly (GWS) $578,100 MID | Av 115.1 | BE 55
Speaking of guns, this bloke would have probably been the best midfielder in SuperCoach, had injury not struck. All that’s behind him now and, with an average of 130.7 across his last three, the Giant is a must-have for the run home.
Zach Merrett (Ess) $508,900 MID | Av 91.5 | BE 76
I know he burnt plenty of SuperCoaches hoping for an improved effort on his sublime 2017 season, but Merrett may have finally turned the corner. four tons in his last five, including 120 and 112 in his last two. Many SuperCoaches gave up on the Bomber and that’s almost made him a POD at just 11.4 per cent ownership. Look at the top eight in your league and if the other teams don’t have him, jump on.
Jack Viney (Mel) $449,900 MID | Av 87.8 | BE 64
Welcome to the party, Jack. The contested ball machine was at his very best in the clinches against Port and came away with 116 on the weekend. If you’re short on cash and looking for an M8 as a real point of difference, Viney could be a risk worth taking, given he’s five rounds back from injury and in only in 838 teams.
RUCKS
Max Gawn (Mel) $611,100 RUC | Av 126.8 | BE 154
Brodie Grundy (Col) $614,800 RUC | Av 123.8 | BE 161
We can just put this on repeat every week. Gawn churned out a ridiculous 140 on the weekend and LOST money. Ditto Grundy with his 113. They have high break evens, so if you can get through with the likes of Martin, Naitanui or McEvoy, for the next couple, you’ll be able to get these boys even cheaper, but I still recommend jumping on now if you have the cash. They’re keepers and you have to close the season with them both, barring injury.
Todd Goldstein (NM) $523,300 RUC | Av 96.4 | BE 73
Having said ALL that, one man who is putting his hand up as a legitimate keeper is our old friend Todd Goldstein. You might remember him from such seasons as being the dominant SuperCoach ruckman in the game. If you thought they were long gone, you might have gone too early. Goldy is averaging 122.3 across his last three, with four tons in his last five, all of those 112 or better. If you need a ruckman who could help you stand out from the rest, maybe, just maybe, the Roo big man could give us a last hurrah.
FORWARDS
Tom McDonald (Mel) $574,400 FWD/DEF | Av 110.3 | BE 135
Has a high break even, so you might want to wait a week, but definitely has the capacity to achieve is. You’d have laughed if someone told you at the start of the season McDonald would be the best forward in SuperCoach. But he is, and you should take advantage of that.
Isaac Heeney (Syd) $547,100 FWD/MID | Av 107 | BE 100
Nearly 100,000 teams can’t be wrong. Heeney is the most popular forward in SuperCoach for very good reason. Take out Round 1 and he’s only had two scores under 94 and he’s cracked the ton in four of the past five. Never churns out a monster, but is always up around three figures.
Devon Smith (Ess) $478,800 FWD | Av 95.8 | BE 71
Ultra fit, ultra consistent. Smith has played every game and rewarded SuperCoaches with eight scores of 90 or better. Has cracked the ton in three of his last four and the Dons are flying. Well-priced for your forward line.
Hayden Crozier (WB) $367,000 FWD | Av 67 | BE -12
Could Hayden Crozier shape your SuperCoach season? The knew Dog suffered a knee injury in Round 1 and has taken time to find his feet in a new role off the half back flank. Judging by his last three — 105.3 including 137 on the weekend — he’s figured it out. Only 456 teams have taken the punt on the Dog. It will be more by the weekend.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: PATRICK CRIPPS
Cripps exceeded 150 SuperCoach points for the second time this season after scoring a season and round-high 187 against Collingwood. He finished with 29 disposals and won 20 of his possessions in a contested manner, also recording seven clearances, nine tackles, two inside 50s and three goals straight.
CHAMPION DATA MARKET WATCH
Shaun Higgins
A 98-point second half from Higgins against former side Western Bulldogs propelled him to an equal season-high 123 SuperCoach points. He finished with 32 disposals, 17 contested possessions, eight clearances and four inside 50s. He also kicked two goals and was involved in eight scoring chains.
Luke Shuey
Shuey’s season has gone from bad to worse after managing just 56 SuperCoach points in the loss to Essendon, falling in price by a further $54,000. Only 12 of 18 disposals were effective, also having nine contested possessions, four inside 50s, one score assist and one goal from 79% game time.
Scott Pendlebury
Pendlebury led the Collingwood charge with a season-high 136 SuperCoach points against archrivals Carlton. He hit the target with 25 of 29 disposals and also had 20 uncontested possessions, four clearances, five tackles, one goal and one score assist from 84% game time.
YOUNG GUN: TOM MURPHY
Murphy scored a season-high 58 SuperCoach points against the Bulldogs and enjoyed his first price rise of the season, increasing by $28,700. He hit the target with nine of 10 disposals and also had seven uncontested possessions, three tackles, one inside 50, one intercept mark and five intercept possessions.
