HOT
Andrew Brayshaw – 153 points
The Freo midfielder had a day out against the Tigers. Brayshaw’s season has been building – with scores of 101, 106, 131 and 135 it was almost inevitable that the Docker would crack the 150-mark. And that he did with one of the best scores of the Gather Round.
Max Holmes – 147 points
After being tagged last week and only managing 72 points, Max Holmes put up a massive score of 147 to lead the Cats to a fantastic victory. 32 disposals, seven tackles and a goal for the Geelong star.
Bailey Smith – 126 points
Bailey Smith is back in a big way. So much so, you could even consider him in your captaincy plans each week. He only went at 54 per cent efficiency but still managed 126 points from his 35 disposals. I think we have to accept that he isn’t going to hit every target, but he can still score big anyway.
Nick Daicos – 133 points
Mission: Get Nick. He had a break-even of 130 and was tagged all night but Daicos proved why now is the time to get him into your team. The Collingwood star finished with 133 points, a season high. He might have had a slow start to the season by his standards but this was the game SuperCoaches were looking for. A slight price rise coming but if you can, slot him in.
Riley Bice – 89 points
Bice Bice Baby. Mature age recruit Riley Bice has slotted into the Swans back line as if he’s been there for years. And he’s also gone into our SuperCoach teams as one of the most popular selections. He was again among the Swans top scorers but his growing influence – even with the kick ins – might be causing issues if you’re a Matt Roberts owner. Bice finished with 89.
Caiden Cleary – 81 points
Cleary 33 is a watch. In his second game of the season, Sydney’s number 33 produced another encouraging score for current owners and those keeping an eye on him. Priced at $124k, it’s worth keeping an eye on the small forward throughout the week with Sydney expecting some key names back in coming weeks. He had good time on ground but we still need a clearer picture on his job security.
Tom Gross – 83 points
SuperCoaches will be keeping an eye on Eagles rookie Tom Gross, with the youngster proving his chops in the midfield in the absence of Tim Kelly. Gross had eight touches, four marks and three tackles midway through the third term for 55 SuperCoach points, which could be a one-way ticket to cash generation. At less than $114,000, he finished the fourth best scorer for the Eagles with 83 points. A good cash cow but a bad sign for West Coast.
NOT
Jack Steele – 83 points
80-plus points is rarely a bad score, but with a break-even of 121 it was always going to be a tough game back for Steele to meet his target. Those SuperCoaches who were excited for his return and hoping for a big return were left disappointed with a measly 83, well below the average for one of the best scorers in SuperCoach.
Jordan Dawson – 60 and Jake Soligo – 63
Jordan Dawson and Jake Soligo were both brought into many SuperCoach sides this week. They would have disappointed their new owners with poor scores of 60 and 63 respectively.
Mark Blicavs – 45 points
SuperCoaches who thought Blicavs had become SuperCoach relevant again were let down on the weekend. After scores of 81, 89 and 104 the one-time superstar fantasy scorer came crashing back to earth with a tally 50 below his projected score. Many will have their finger hovering over the trade button this week.
Harry Perryman – 62 points
Pass on Perryman. Harry Perryman reached triple figures against Carlton but the way his magnet is moved means it’s time to trade him if the former Giant is still in your team. Most of his night was spent in defence which saw his scoring reduced to 62, below his break-even. His versatility is brilliant for Pies coach Craig McRae but not SuperCoach players.
Massimo D’Ambrosio – 52 points
The Hawks midfielder’s yoyo season continued on Sunday night, with another sub-par performance symbolic of Hawthorn’s disappointing effort against Port. With a projected score of 92, D’Ambrosio could only muster 52 to go with tallies of 87, 47, 109 and 65 for the season.
