SuperCoach 2018: Sam Edmund hopes draftees Angus Brayshaw, Paddy Dow and Luke Davies-Uniacke can pay off
EVERYONE has a strategy when it comes to tackling their AFL SuperCoach side. This year Herald Sun reporter SAM EDMUND is looking to the kids in his quest for premiership glory. SEE SAM’S TEAM
IN THE draft we trust.
Andrew Brayshaw (Fremantle), Paddy Dow (Carlton) and Luke Davies-Uniacke went two, three and four in last year’s national draft.

Three months later they’ve gone six, seven and eight in With The Wind’s Supercoach starting midfield.

They may be teenagers, but this trio arguably fill me with more confidence than just about any other line in this embryonic team.
Brayshaw’s talent is obvious, privately the Blues are thrilled with Dow and Davies-Uniacke will play straight away at the rebuilding Roos.
The rest of the starting midfield, with the exception of Jaeger O’Meara, is “set and forget”. O’Meara has had a solid pre-season, but he remains an obvious risk.
In the ruck, Max Gawn was first-picked and Paddy Ryder required about two seconds thought.
Forward, I’ve gone for Stewie Crameri because his Geelong teammate Mitch Duncan told me to. Not really, but he said enough to have me believe in the hard-running forward, whose link-up qualities could be perfectly suited to a Cats side who has missed that in recent times.
Duncan also was full of praise for mature-age Cats recruit Tim Kelly, who like a lot of others, finds a spot on my bench.
Allen Christensen hasn’t played since the middle of 2016 and is the forgotten man, but we don’t need him to deliver the world to make this a profitable decision.
Do we have to mention the backline? Yes, there’s some issues here and the make-up of this group will almost certainly change.
I’m bullish on James Sicily, though. He’s going nowhere.
