FRIDAY has descended into chaos.
The GOAT — Gary Ablett — is out of his 300th game with a calf injury.
Scoring machine Nat Fyfe will miss for the Dockers with an unknown injury.
So what do we all do now?
For anyone who traded Ablett or Fyfe in this week, you have every right to be fuming. With the AFL holding a Thursday night match, that means the “reverse trades” button has been turned off, so you’re stuck with them.
While there may be some part of you that wants to burn a second trade and move either player on straight away, probably hold off.
At this stage it is not clear whether they will miss more than one match and you don’t really want to waste two trades in one week — do you?
For everyone else, if this week is shaping up as a must-win to keep your finals or top four hopes alive, the time could be now to swing a trade.
Ablett’s price of $609,600 and Fyfe’s $481,800 means you can basically afford anyone so what are your options?
How about the most underrated man in football, Dayne Zorko? At $610,600, Zorko is having a stunning year, averaging a whopping 111.4 points per game. However, over the last three weeks that number has jumped to 134.
Will his form hold for the rest of the season? Someone has to keep scoring for the struggling Lions so there is no reason why it should drop off.

Carlton’s Bryce Gibbs is also in a purple patch, averaging a stunning 146 over his last three games and 132 over his last five.
When Gibbs last played the Tigers he scored 104. Given he is in better form now, you can pencil him in to top that on Sunday.
How about saving some cash and getting a point of difference in your side?
Essendon’s Zach Merrett is in less than nine per cent of teams but has dropped below 100 just once in the last six weeks.
With the Bombers pushing for a finals berth, he won’t be dropping off anytime soon.
Or how about saving some cash and picking up a duel position star?
Sydney’s Jake Lloyd is just $411,800 but has been one of the best scoring defenders of the year.
If you trade Ablett for Lloyd you would save over $150,000 and then be freed up to upgrade elsewhere.
As far as risky moves, perhaps stay away from Greater Western Sydney’s Josh Kelly.
There is no doubt Kelly is a star but he has been under an injury cloud all week.
Imagine trading Ablett for Kelly, only to lose Kelly as well. Disaster.

It won’t bring him back but it might cheer up your Friday.
