Rage trades: The players you need to trade out of your SuperCoach team after Round 20
FORGET about reputations, it’s all about survival now in SuperCoach. And there are some players we can’t afford to carry any longer. FINALS TRADE TIPS
Supercoach
Don't miss out on the headlines from Supercoach. Followed categories will be added to My News.
WHAT a fantastic weekend of footy, with some fantastic games and some really great — and really low — Supercoach scores.
Some players who hadn’t done much for a few weeks, and have been listed as players to boot in recent weeks, stood up for us and really showed us why they are superstars of the competition. It just goes to show how hard this game can be. Take Buddy Franklin as an example. His recent scoring has been 73, 60, 109, 61, 56 and then this weekend comes out with 178! SuperCoach can be a cruel game.

AFL DAILY: FOLLOW ALL TODAY’S BREAKING FOOTY NEWS
If you have won through to a preliminary final, put your feet up and enjoy. For the rest of us, here are the urgent issues we need to address to get back in the premiership race.
BOOT HIM
Andrew Gaff
The Eagle is certain to miss the rest of the home-and-away season at least for his shocking punch that floored Andrew Brayshaw. That’s terrible news for more than 30,000 SuperCoaches who hold the ninth-highest scorer in the game. He still managed 123 points so with a value of $517,700 you have plenty of trade options. More than 27,000 coaches still have Brayshaw, but hopefully you aren’t relying on him apart from bench cover.
Michael Hurley
With just two scores over 100 in the past six and his past three weeks now all being under 90 it just seems that Hurley isn’t going to provide us with the scoring that we were hoping for. His role doesn’t appear to be the free running one we have seen when he scores well as he gets more lock-down jobs.
Stefan Martin
It’s a bit harsh but Stef has now had two scores under 90 in the past two weeks and was outscored by teammate Oscar McInerney this week (mainly due to Oscar’s two goals). With Max Gawn and Brodie Grundy posting big scores each week another game like this could see you knocked out of the finals race. However, this is only a trade you would consider if you have luxury trades on your side.
Isaac Heeney
This now makes two scores in the 70s in the past three weeks from Heeney. Not an ideal situation. He is proving unreliable for us in that he was scoring consistently well early in the year but just hasn’t gotten in the groove since coming back from concussion.
Tom Rockliff
In the last showdown he had one of his best scores but he wasn’t able to replicate that this week. Just 20 possessions at 65 per cent efficiency for a lowly 57 points this week, his fourth in a row under 90. If you are still an owner with some luxury trades in the bank, I would recommend moving him on.
Toby Greene
Toby left the field with a hamstring issue during yesterday’s win against Carlton and didn’t return. This is a blow to those that picked him up when he returned. Don’t be surprised if the Giants take their time getting him back. They will be keen to have him back for finals — unfortunately for us they mean the AFL finals and not the SuperCoach finals. Even without the injury he has not really been scoring well for us since returning from injury.
BUY HIM
Sam Menegola
He was a popular pick in the pre-season but his 144 on the weekend was not only his best of the season it also marked just the second time this year that he has put three scores over 100 in a row. At under $500k he could be a bargain and get you some great points in the run home. Dual-position status is a bonus.
Dayne Zorko
His past three have all been over 100 and this week’s 142 was his second-highest score of the season. The Lions have been playing some good footy and this is certainly helping his scoring.
Angus Brayshaw
If you are looking for a defender then Angus is one that you should be considering. Whilst his previous two scores weren’t fantastic he has shown that since the bye he has what it takes to be a good scorer. He had 10 tackles and if he can keep doing that each week he will certainly continue to score well.
Matt Crouch
The Crows have sprung back to life this week but even when they were beaten last week Crouch was scoring well. He has three scores over 110 in a row now and if you need a unique midfielder in your side he could be just the answer you are looking for.
Jack Macrae
Once again he has shown us how good he is, racking up 36 possessions. He has now had three 120-plus scores since returning from injury and if you need to swap out a premium that is injured then he is one guy you are looking to go to.
Josh Kelly
Wow! Kelly set the new highest score this season for Supercoach with a 205. His previous two games have been 130s which makes it even better. He is a star of the competition and he is now showing us his SuperCoach scoring form as well. If you have the cash and trades left then go for it.
Jack Redden
Redden has had two 154s in the four weeks prior to this week and this week he had another great game in the 130s. He is proving to be capable of delivering massive scores and hence would be someone that could deliver you a Grand Final win.
CAPTAINS SCORECARD
There were so many great scores this week most people should have had a good captain option to take! The key is just picking the right one in advance.
While some scores were higher I have only listed those that people would be likely to have selected before the round started.
A+++: Josh Kelly
A+: Stephen Coniglio, Tom Mitchell, Brodie Grundy, Jack Macrae, Joel Selwood, Patrick Dangerfield, Dayne Zorko, Jack Macrae, Patrick Cripps, Clayton Oliver, Elliot Yeo
A: Matt Crouch
B+: Zach Merrett, Max Gawn
B: Robbie Gray
C: Dayne Beams
ROOKIE WATCH
You probably aren’t playing these guys on field but they are there for injury and bench cover.
Let’s just hope we don’t need them too often! I have only listed those players that people would still have and would be likely to come on in case of an emergency.
Start him if you need to (65+): Tim Kelly 112, Jack Higgins 74, Cameron Rayner 88, Oscar McInerney 82, Tom Doedee 112, Jarrod Lienert 89, Brayden Sier 70, Paddy Dow 65, Harry Himmelberg 110, Tom Cole 69, Liam Ryan 99, Willie Rioli 76, Andrew Brayshaw 78 (but may have a broken jaw)
Sit him unless you have no other options (Under 65): Paul Ahern 40, Jordan Gallucci 50, Aaron Naughton 57, Josh Battle 8 (concussion), Brody Mihocek 39, Jaidyn Stephenson 49, Joel Smith 56 (but he hurt his shoulder and won’t play again this year).
