You’ve come to the right place.

You won’t be able to pick a number of popular Blues and Tigers players - but that might not all be bad. Check out the updated notes under each position to see the changes you need to make to our ultimate consensus team.

To help you pick a competitive starting side, seven expert KFC SuperCoach teams have been collated and combined into the ultimate consensus team for 2023.

DEFENCE

The Elliot Yeo bombshell has rocked the KFC SuperCoach world, bringing different team structures into play. Through weight of numbers here, Liam Jones (five teams), Reuben Ginbey (six teams), Conor McKenna (four teams) and Charlie Constable (six teams) have all shifted up to take an on-field spot in the expert consensus side. The leftover money has been used to play another mid-price value option in the forward line.

FRIDAY UPDATE: Go with Crow Jordan Dawson or Cat Tom Stewart instead of Carlton gun Sam Docherty and young Demon Judd McVee on the bench in place of Lachie Cowan.

MIDFIELD

The most-expensive player in the game, Rory Laird, features in five of the seven teams, while Clayton Oliver, Marcus Bontempelli and Tom Green are in four. New Tiger Jacob Hopper is the go-to M5 in many KFC SuperCoach teams, and it’s no different here.

FRIDAY UPDATE: Will Phillips has been named as emergency, while Richmond recruit Jacob Hopper scored 67 on Thursday, which is good news for you. Pick Hawk James Worpel in Hopper’s place and bring in St Kilda draftee Mattaes Phillipou for Phillips, providing he’s named in the final squad on Friday night.

RUCK

Every KFC SuperCoach team should have Rowan Marshall, but there’s been no unanimous ruck partner all pre-season. And it’s still no different. Sean Darcy (three teams) just edges out Jarrod Witts, who featured in two of the seven sides.

FRIDAY UPDATE: No changes needed here.

FORWARD

Josh Dunkley, Connor Rozee, Tim Taranto and Errol Gulden is a very popular quartet and, given some uncertainty around the on-field rookie options, the extra cash from Yeo to Jones means Sam Flanders (two teams) slots in behind them, with Toby McLean (six teams) and Harry Sheezel (two teams) rounding out a deep forwardline.

FRIDAY UPDATE: You’ve missed out on Tim Taranto’s KFC SuperCoach ton, but giant Stephen Coniglio is the obvious one to take his spot here. Luke Beveridge has named Toby McLean so bring Harry Sheezel onto the field and pick Crow Luke Pedlar or, if you want ruck cover, Cat Esava Ratugolea on your forward bench.
