Former AFL star Brendan Fevola reveals his 2018 SuperCoach team

FORMER AFL star goalkicker Brendan Fevola has done his homework, enlisting the game’s best recruiters to prepare for the 2018 AFL SuperCoach season.

IT’S that time of year again.

Picking a good SuperCoach team is not just about picking superstars, it’s about picking players that will accumulate points and grow in value.

This year I’ve done my research and got some inside information from some of the league’s best recruiters and former player — veteran of SuperCoach — Russell ‘Fly’ Morris.

With ten years under his belt, he had some great tips for me.

I went with some favourites, reigning Brownlow Medallist Dustin Martin and superstar Patty Dangerfield — costly but guaranteed points.

Originally had Buddy Franklin in my forward line but after re-doing my team five times, I’ve got him on the outer and opted for a smaller forward line.

Small forwards that play midfield rack up more points than a stand-alone forward.

I’ve slotted No.1 draft pick Cameron Rayner in the forward pocket, can’t wait to see him strut his stuff on the big stage.

From all reports, Allen Christensen has had a monster pre-season and is as fit as Winx.

I’ve got a relatively young backline, Michael Hibberd and Rory Laird have been consistent performers in previous years and hopefully won’t disappoint this year.

My old teammate Pearce Hanley had an interrupted season last year, on and off the field, I think this year will be huge for him.

At the Doggies, Aaron Naughton will be the pick of the year at $166,000, his value will increase dramatically.

Some young guns to look out for include Jarrod Garlett (Carlton), Nick Holman (Gold Coast), Tim Kelly (Geelong) and Isaac Cumming (GWS).
