TOM Papley loomed as a “one-and-done” rookie but has turned into the must-have cash cow of 2016.

The Sydney rookie has exploded onto the AFL and SuperCoach scene with two hundreds in his first two AFL games.

Papley now has a breakeven of -149 and his price is projected to skyrocket by $113,000, the second biggest rise of any rookie behind Marcus Adams.

If you’re looking to fix your rookies, these are the two names you need to know.

At this stage of the season there are no ruck rookies on the bubble but there are a couple of interesting forward-only options.

Obviously, Papley leads the way followed by Lincoln McCarthy, Mitch McGovern, Wayne Milera, Kyle Langford, Callum Ah Chee and Jed Lamb if you’re looking under $200,000.James Sicily and Josh Schache have made bright starts to the year but as young key position players it is unlikely they can maintain the required scoring and cash generation.

One of the most popular trades this week has been to downgrade an under-performing star - Michael Barlow for instance - to Papley or Ben Kennedy and Sam Kerridge.

While it’s not wise to rely on a youngster who’s only played two games, it does allow you to upgrade elsewhere on the field and with the likes of Tom Rockliff injured and Daniel Rich and Sam Jacobs underperforming the extra cash will come in very handy.
