MEGA FORMGUIDE: Who should be in your SuperCoach team after the NAB Challenge? Here are all the numbers from the pre-season comp — and what they really mean.

AFL SuperCoach: Team selection and management

THE NAB Challenge is a crucial time in SuperCoach but pre-season form is sometimes hard to assess.

Star players don’t see out games and young guns get more game-time than they might in the regular season.

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered thanks to in-depth analysis from Champion Data.

One of the key statistics is points per 100 minutes, a player’s theoretical score if he had of played a full game.

Of the players who played a minimum of 60 minutes in the NAB Challenge, Gold Coast Suns youngster Jesse Lonergan came out on top.

The powerfully built midfielder played a total of 106 minutes in two pre-season games scoring 190 points (126 and 64) or an average of 179 points per 100 minutes.

Patrick Cripps confirmed his elite midfielder status playing just one NAB Challenge game and scoring an astonishing 107 in 64 minutes or 168 points per 100 minutes.

Some of the biggest names on the SuperCoach radar are in the top 25, including Patrick Dangerfield, Matt Crouch, Aaron Hall, Zac Smith, Daniel Wells and Michael Barlow.

Every year, rookies are the most important selection in SuperCoach.

Sydney youngster George Hewitt was the surprise packet of the pre-season earning solid game time in the Swans’ midfield.

Hewitt averaged 139 points per 100 minutes after scoring 118 and 82 but the third-year onballer is unlikely to see much senior AFL in the regular season unless injuries strike.

The most popular rookie-priced player in the game, Sam Kerridge was just outside the top 25 after scoring 122 and 109 in an average of 86 minutes per game for 135 per 100 minutes.

On the other hand, the third most popular cheapie Mitch Brown struggled averaging just 70 per 100 minutes after scores of 104, 36 and 13 in three games.
