AFL SuperCoach 2018: Perfect 9 jackpots to $240,000 for Round 4

WANT to win $240,000? It’s simple, just pick the player from each match who scores the highest SuperCoach points this round. There’s $1000 up for grabs for those who come closest. So who should be on your radar?

Serious business!

SUPERCOACH has started but it is never too late to get in on the Perfect 9 action.

Simply pick the top SuperCoach scorer in all nine games of the round and pocket the cash jackpot, which stands at $240,000 at Round 4.

The jackpot jumps by $5000 each week until someone claims the booty.

The SuperCoach with the highest number of Perfect Picks — from the nine selected players — wins the $1000 weekly prize.

SuperCoach and Round 3 winner Brandon Wills nailed four Perfect Picks last week, including Tom Mitchell, Nat Fyfe, Brodie Grundy and Stefan Martin.

SuperCoach beast Mitchell is the only player to top score in all three of his matches in 2018.

Magpies ruckman Brodie Grundy is the next best Perfect 9 performer, top-scoring twice.

Adelaide vs. Collingwood

Bryce Gibbs

Former Blue Bryce Gibbs has started his year in scintillating fashion. With teammate Rory Sloane copping the tag he has been able to roam free, averaging 29 disposals and 121 points. He faces old foe Collingwood and should be among the top scorers.

GWS Giants vs. Fremantle

Nat Fyfe

The past fortnight has seen Nat Fyfe back to his brilliant best. The midfield beast racked up 38 disposals, 14 clearances and 160 points on Saturday to back up his score of 120 the week before. Averages a formidable 121.3 points in his three encounters against the Giants.

Richmond v Brisbane

Dustin Martin

Dusty had a down game by his lofty standards, finishing with just 21 possessions and 91 points — his quietest return since Round 16 last year. But don’t count on this happening twice in as many weeks. Martin top-scored with 160 against Adelaide the week before and a similar return could be on the cards on Saturday afternoon.

Western Bulldogs vs. Sydney Swans

Lance Franklin

Lance Franklin will be licking his lips coming up against young defender Aaron Naughton this weekend. Buddy should have a field day, as he did in Round 1 against inexperienced defender Tom Barrass on his way to a monster score of 175. Could he reach double figure goals?

North Melbourne v Carlton

Matthew Kreuzer

There isn’t anyone screaming ‘pick me’ in this contest, so we will settle for Matthew Kreuzer. The former No. 1 pick was very disappointing against Grundy, but his ruck opponent Todd Goldstein looks out of gas. Kreuzer top scored in the corresponding fixture last season with 18 disposals, 46 hit-outs and 146 points. Avoid Patrick Cripps, as he will be the likely target for the dreaded Ben Jacobs tag.

West Coast v Gold Coast

Jarryd Lyons

I wish I had the guts to start him in SuperCoach Classic. Lyons’ past fortnight has been sensational, posting 152 and 138 — second highest total in both fixtures. Expect Lyons to go one better against the Eagles. Let’s hope stopper Mark Hutchings goes to Aaron Hall, as Fremantle did on the weekend.

Essendon vs. Port Adelaide

Robbie Gray

It was his namesake Sam Gray who led the way for the Power on the weekend with 131, but Robbie Gray is a player with a monster SuperCoach ceiling. Gray is just getting into the swing of things after a health scare in the off-season, posting two tons to start the year. This could be the game he explodes.

Hawthorn vs. Melbourne

Max Gawn

Going against Tom Mitchell is risky in this caper, but Gawn is no slouch. The big man averages 133.7 points in three games against the Hawks, including a whopping 168 in 2016. He took Todd Goldstein to the cleaners on the weekend, notching up 50 hit-outs and 117 points. McEvoy has never been a strong hitout ruckman and Gawny should dominate.

Geelong Cats vs. St Kilda

Patrick Dangerfield

He had a down SuperCoach game against West Coast but lightning doesn’t strike twice. The most prolific scorer of the past two seasons had his lowest score since Round 6, 2017 scoring 98 from 33 touches. With Gaz set to miss, expect the superstar to lift in his absence.
