Herald Sun Super Rankings: Mark Robinson and Jon Anderson rate the top 20 players from Round 15

ROUND 15 produced huge team and individual performances with Tiger Jack Riewoldt and Hawk Tom Mitchell dominant. Both are playing some of the best footy of their career and are ranked No.1 and No.2 in Robbo and Ando’s Super Rankings this week.

IT was a weekend that witnessed two of the best individual games of 2018, from the aerial dominance of Jack Riewoldt to a ground ball machine named Tom Mitchell.

Riewoldt is just four months shy of his 30th birthday, yet may just be playing the best football of a career that already contains two All-Australian selections, two Coleman medals and a best and fairest.

Mitchell has already run second in a Brownlow and has one best and fairest and one All-Australian, but at 25 has time on his hands to add to a CV that could boast the Charles Brownlow later this year.

And there is GWS co-captain Callan Ward, a player who has the total respect of the competition as he tries to help drag his team towards an unlikely top-four spot.

Speaking of Brownlows, could this be a year when ruckmen take the award back to the 1970s when Len Thompson, Gary Dempsey, Graham Moss, Graham Teasdale and Peter Moore won the award?

Brodie Grundy will surely poll well, as should “The Beard” in Max Gawn who produced another outstanding game in the face of a demoralising loss.

That loss came from St Kilda, where players such as Jade Gresham and the Jacks in Billings, Sinclair and Steele played to their potential, while Jake Carlisle proved why he is arguably the club’s best player.

The Bulldogs’ gallant victory over Geelong was inspired by a little big man in Luke Dahlhaus who proved just how potent he can be when on song.

Charlie Curnow is in for the second week in a row but not his last, whereas his veteran teammate Kade Simpson conclusively proved why he should be playing again next year.
