HAVING one goal denied by score review is one thing.
Which made Jack Billings’ run of luck against North Melbourne even more bizarre.
The St Kilda young gun was on fire early in the first quarter, having booted two goals late in the term.
He looked to have snagged a third when he pounced on the ball and seemingly snapped truly.
But as the ball returned to the centre of the ground, the customary score review showed Billings’ kick had been touched off the boot, with the score changed to a behind.
Fair enough, too.

The bizarre thing was it happened again.
In the second quarter, Billings showed the North Melbourne defence a clean pair of heels and once again snapped around his body.
Yet once again, the review would deny him.
In the space of two quarters, Billings saw two near-identical snaps — that in a previous era would both have stood as goals — denied by reviews.
It didn’t seem to faze him though, with Billings among the Saints’ best as they seized control of their clash with the Roos and went on to win by 17 points.
