CONTROVERSIAL player agent Ricky Nixon has been given the OK to publish his tell-all book.

He launched My Side last year, but was prevented from publishing it after St Kilda schoolgirl Kim Duthie attempted to strangle some chapters that she believed defamed her.

His “warts and all” biography alludes to a scandal involving Duthie, which erupted in 2010.

She quickly became known as the woman who played a part in bringing down Nixon, one of the most high-profile men in sport.

Duthie was a star high school athlete and met some St Kilda AFL players at a footy clinic at her school in February 2010.

The then 16-year-old started a relationship with player Sam Gilbert and then revealed in May 2010 she was pregnant.

Then in December 2010 she posted nude photos of Saints players Nick Riewoldt and Nick Dal Santo to her Facebook.

In January 2011, Nixon, who was Riewoldt’s manager, got involved and began texting Duthie.

A video later exposed Nixon in Duthie’s hotel room on her bed in his underwear.

Nixon’s career came crashing down and he wrote his biography to tell his side of the story.

“People think they know what happened but they weren’t there and at the end of the day, the only two people who know (are) the two people that were there,” he told news.com.au in November.

“My book puts a lot of logic to what happened and people who have already read it say it now fills in gaps.”

Duthie, now 22, sought a court injunction to stop chapters about her going to print and claimed they painted her as a “temptress” and a “slut”.

Nixon planned to release his book in November but Duthie won a temporary injunction to postpone its release.

But later that month, Nixon was allowed to publish his hard copy in full and not post any excerpts online until the middle of this year.

Nixon planned to have his book released by Christmas, but further court action was taken, preventing him from publishing it.

Details of the book were aired in a Victorian Supreme Court hearing last year.

Nixon’s book claims Duthie drugged him with GBH and falsified video footage of him, framing him to suggest he had sex with her and took cocaine, the Supreme Court heard in November.

Duthie said Nixon took advantage of her and offered her drugs.

She claimed he paid her $500 to front Network Ten program The Project to lie about their relationship and offer him a public apology.

Duthie claimed he told her: “If you do that, there will be plenty more money for you”.

Today Nixon was told he could finally publish the book in hard copy.

Duthie is not named in the book.

The former player agent admitted he had been a “bloody idiot” but said now he wanted to move forward.

“I feel that I gave something to football, a lot to football, and contributed to some of the success of the game,” he told reporters in Melbourne today.

“And then I was a bloody idiot and I made a big mistake, and I’m to blame.

“But now I’m trying to own up to my mistakes and get on with life, and do something about it.”

He hopes the book will also help him get his family back on track.
