Dual premiership Tiger Marlion Pickett’s court case over allegations of his involvement in a series of commercial burglaries now won’t take place until at least May after it was adjourned.

Pickett, 32, did not appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning.

But the state requested that the case be adjourned due to outstanding “discourse,” with a new hearing date set for May 8.

Pickett’s lawyers agreed to the request, citing “important information” needed to be acquired. The prosecution said this included telecom mapping, further tracing of money allegedly to and from the accused and other disclosure.

It’s been alleged Pickett and Kurtley Thorne stole over $300,000 in a series of burglaries, including stealing from safes at currency exchange businesses, across December 2022 and January 2023. The Richmond midfielder has also been accused of being part of a plan to transport the money interstate in a campervan.

Pickett’s lawyer acknowledged that there had previously been frustration with the pace at which the case was progressing through the court system.

Pickett has been re-granted bail on the same conditions, meaning he is free to face Sydney this Sunday.
