It came amid concern about the former No.1 draft pick’s increasingly erratic behaviour.

The decision was made after consultation with players to instead start Ugle-Hagan on the bench.

Ugle-Hagan finished with four disposals in a 37-point loss.

The 22-year-old’s future at Whitten Oval has been under the microscope during the off-season after he spent time away from the club for personal reasons.

He has since returned after spending time with the Indigenous All-Stars and trained in recent weeks.

But there remains uncertainty about when Ugle-Hagan will feature this season.
