Port Adelaide has released a statement after a video of Jack Watts sniffing a white substance at Germany’s Oktoberfest surfaced, months after the forward was at the centre of a texting scandal.
The video shows the 2008 No. 1 pick snorting the substance off a woman’s breasts, although it isn’t known when the video was taken.
Watts’ manager Paul Connors of Connors Sports Management initially said the substance being taken is not cocaine, but a legal tobacco powder widely used at the Munich festival.
“It’s not cocaine,” Connors told the Herald Sun.
The Power said the substance is not tobacco-based, but is known as ‘Wiesn Pulver’.
“Port Adelaide is aware of a video on social media platforms involving Jack Watts,” the statement read.
“The club has spoken to Watts about the content within the video.
“Watts has informed the club that the video was taken at Oktoberfest in Munich last October and the substance featured is “Wiesn Pulver”, a legal substance made up of menthol, sugar and glucose.
“The AFL is aware of the matter.
“Based on the information at hand the club will not be making any further comment at this stage.
