WHISPERS
COLLINGWOOD duo Andrew Krakouer and Harry O'Brien will play against the Brisbane Lions tonight.
Coach Nathan Buckley said he would give the pair the option of sitting out of the clash in the wake of the race controversy surrounding the club and comments made by president Eddie McGuire in relation to Adam Goodes this week.
But both Krakouer and O'Brien - who publicly admonished McGuire for his radio gaffe - were said to be in good spirits in Brisbane this morning and are set to play tonight.
LESS certain to take his place in his side this weekend is St Kilda captain Nick Riewoldt.
Saint Nick is said to be still suffering from the effects of a head clash with Western Bulldogs hard nut Liam Picken last Saturday.
He has been named in the team and will of course be given until the last minute to prove his fitness for Sunday's clash against North Melbourne, but it could be touch and go.
Riewoldt was set to be a part of the Triple M commentary team last Sunday but was unable to do so after copping the knock and has barely trained all week.
ANOTHER concussion scare may have scuppered Carlton's plans to rest a star or two for tomorrow's clash against Greater Western Sydney.
It is understood the Blues were open to the idea of leaving either captain Marc Murphy or former skipper Chris Judd - both just suffering from general soreness - out of the team to face the Giants.
But with Kane Lucas already ruled out with a hamstring injuries, doubts over Brock McLean's fitness after a head clash of his own last week may mean that Judd and Murphy are both forced to play on.
HAWTHORN has made a late change in its past two matches.
First it was Bradley Hill with a corked thigh against the Giants, then it was Grant Birchall with a sore back against Gold Coast last week.
Will another big gun fall foul of a minor niggle for Sunday's mismatch against Melbourne?
SUPERCOACH ALERT
MELBOURNE defender Dean Terlich remains in doubt with a rib injury sustained in the loss to Fremantle last week - which will be giving 104,000 SuperCoaches some serious heart burn right about now.
If you've got him, and you're keeping him, make sure you've got cover on the bench.
That's easier said than done if you're any of the 80,000 coaches with Jackson Thurlow in your team, or the 48,000 with Lewis Stevenson, 14,000 with Greg Broughton or 13,000 with Beau Waters.
Maybe the solution is Brent Staker?
Already 62,000 have bought in the Brisbane Lion who is a must-buy for any serious SuperCoach player, but many have brought him in to the forward line as a replacement for the likes of Jake Neade, Justin Westhoff, Brent Macaffer, Sam Dwyer etc.
Why not bring him in to the backline for Terlich?
Ultimate Round 10 SuperCoach formguide
The Demon backman has a break-even of 37 this week and should go up another $20,000 or so but then he is pretty much at his peak.
You could thank him for his services a week early and let him go.
Conversely, anyone with Stevenson or Jasper Pittard - both not playing this week - could swap them for Staker to give you that extra defensive cover.
MONEY MATTERS
FREMANTLE is a genuine flag contender.
And it is way over the odds against Adelaide at AAMI Stadium tomorrow.
Ross Lyon may not have the likes of Matthew Pavlich, Aaron Sandilands and Michael Walters at his disposal, but his team is still taking the football world by storm.
To not be favourites against a Crows side - admittedly in form - minus Taylor Walker and, of course, Kurt Tippett, is absurd.
The $1.95 head-to-head at the TAB is juicy enough.
Defeating Sydney in Sydney is a huge ask for Essendon tomorrow.
But the improved Bombers defence might like its chances of locking down the game at the small SCG.
James Hird's men may not be able to win, but getting within the line of 13.5 is definitely doable.
Add that to Fremantle head-to-head and Collingwood to win by more than 15.5 against the Lions and you get yourself a return of $4.53 for your hard-earned dollar.
ON NOTICE
AND even though we just backed Collingwood to win comfortably enough tonight, clearly the Magpies are on notice.
The Magpies have somewhat quietly dropped to 11th on the ladder.
Another loss tonight could see Nathan Buckley's charges fall a game and percentage behind eighth.
One player feeling the heat of his coach, and plenty in the SuperCoach world, is Dane Swan, who returned his lowest score in living memory against the Swans last week.
Collingwood has to win tonight against an injury and suspension-ravaged Lions. No excuses. It needs to get its season back on track.
