The jungle drums are beating about the latest AFL legend to dip his toe into reality TV.
In a move that will surprise many, Brisbane champion Simon Black is rumoured to be overseas filming the next instalment of Australian Survivor.
The three-time premiership hero has quietly slipped out of town and was missing from his regular radio gig for Lions games this weekend.
An added layer of intrigue about Black's departure to a South Pacific island is what he will miss while absent for well over a month.
The Lions have their Hall of Fame dinner on June 8 in Melbourne after the club's clash with Carlton at Marvel Stadium.
INJURY UPDATE: BIG BEN IN DOUBT
LIFE AFTER BOLTON: WHO ELSE CAN COACH BLUES?
Given he retired in 2013 after a decorated 322-game career, Black is eligible for nomination and is a lock to join a bunch of his premiership teammates.
Ten of the Lions from the great three-peat era of 2001-03 are in the Hall of Fame and Michael Voss has been elevated to legend status.
It's understood filming commitments wouldn't allow Black, the 2002 Brownlow medallist, to attend the Lions' night of nights.
Former Western Bulldogs and Hawthorn fullback Brian Lake was a part of last year's Australian Survivor: The Champions v Contenders series which was won by swimming legend Shane Gould.
Other AFL stars to go down the reality TV path this year include Hawthorn great Dermott Brereton and Brownlow medallist Shane Crawford who were both part of Channel 10's 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here'.
Ex-AFLW star Abbey Holmes is rumoured to be joining Black as a contestant on Survivor this year, along with former Olympic gold medallist Nova Peris.
SCOTT’S ‘SQUARE-UP’ WITH DANGER LAID BARE
This is the photo at the centre of Dangergate.
Kane Cornes' decision to have a crack at Patrick Dangerfield about exaggerating his injuries seemed to have been supported by a post-game comment by Geelong coach Chris Scott.
When discussing the Brownlow medallist's ankle injury on Saturday night Scott said: "For those who saw him hobbling around on the crutches post-game it's all part of the `Danger Show' from what we can tell."
It turns out Scott was having a bit of fun with his midfield star and attempting to get one back on him after Dangerfield put the photo from a 'Men of All Seasons' calendar shoot during his playing days in Brisbane on social media.
“Paddy and I have a fantastic relationship and Paddy has chosen to air some photos of me from young and naive days in the public which he finds funny,” Scott told 3AW.
“That (post game comment) was my way of having a little crack back. My crude attempt to have a go back at him.”
LANDSLIDE VICTORY FOR SHORTEN
Bill Shorten didn't have a lot to smile about over the weekend.
But he can take some solace about not becoming Australia's new Prime Minister by knowing he was the only tipster from the Herald Sun panel to select all nine winners.
Shorten's first nine of the season saw him jump to equal fourth on 51, the same number as his nemesis Scott Morrison who got seven in Round 9.
Unfortunately for Shorten the election day curse involving the Sydney Swans didn't work out his way.
It had been revealed that since 1951, if the election was on the same day as a Swans game, then the result of the polls matched the outcome of the VFL/AFL match.
The statistics show that when the Swans won so did Labor.
Unfortunately for Shorten that streak came to a halt on Saturday night despite the Swans holding up their end of the bargain by producing an upset result over North Melbourne in Tasmania.
