Western Jets midfielder Jaelen Pavlidis put his pressure and competitiveness on show as he produced his best performance of the season in the NAB League on Sunday.
After initially missing out on making Vic Metro’s final squad for the under-18 national championships, Pavlidis received a call up to play against Western Australia in the state team’s third match of the championships earlier this month.
He backed up that match with a stunning return to the NAB League against the Eastern Ranges on Sunday, logging 32 disposals (19 contested), six marks, five clearances, five score involvements and a goal.
The 181cm onballer also logged a staggering 17 ground ball gets and 15 tackles for a total of 215 SuperCoach ranking points.
An over-age player who is described as a “smooth mover”, Pavlidis turns 19 in September.

Another over-age player starred for the Murray Bushrangers in their loss to the Dandenong Stingrays on Saturday, with Noah Bradshaw gathering 28 disposals along with four clearances, seven score involvements and 11 tackles.
The son of two-time Brisbane Lions premiership player Daniel Bradshaw, the Lions have been keeping a close eye on Bradshaw’s development this year.
He has also featured in two VFL matches for Collingwood.
Zane Duursma was another standout from the weekend’s matches, continuing an ultra-impressive season which has positioned him as one of the top-five prospects for the 2023 national draft.
The younger brother of Port Adelaide forward Xavier Duursma, the 16-year-old midfielder-forward recorded 18 disposals, three clearances, six score involvements, five tackles and three goals for Gippsland Power in its win over the Oakleigh Chargers on Saturday.
Another top draft prospect for 2023, Nick Watson kicked four goals from seven disposals for the Eastern Ranges in their win over the Western Jets on Sunday.
