Collingwood midfielder Adam Treloar believes his future lies at the Magpies, but the constant chatter about his contract has him feeling nervous and apprehensive about his fate.
Treloar has a back-ended contract at the Magpies to 2025 that will put a strain on the club’s bulging salary cap.
Persistent reports this week have speculated that Treloar might still be available to a rival club despite him dousing any interest in moving to Queensland next year.
His partner Kim Ravaillion will play netball with the Queensland Firebirds but it is expected to be only a one-year contract or two seasons at maximum.
The pair plan to expand their family in coming seasons and Treloar’s family and friends are in Melbourne, with Ravaillion’s mother in Sydney but expected to relocate to Queensland for the season to help her daughter.
His management and Collingwood have had no discussions about him being shopped around despite talks on other players this week.

The Pies at one stage considered a trade for him to the Gold Coast last year.
Rival clubs have not been told he is on the trade table, but Treloar is keen to find out if the discussion is only media chatter or has more substance.
In theory he would need to agree to a trade to be released from his current deal and has absolutely no intentions of considering a deal with an interstate club.
His current plans are to see out his future at the Pies, but clearly if Collingwood declared their hand it might change matters several weeks out from the trade period.
The Pies were last year keen to consider what it would take to secure the No. 1 or No. 2 draft pick and Treloar’s name was raised in discussions but the deal never went through.
He was happy to move on from that episode and believe that the Pies never seriously considered trading him.
His deal has five more seasons to run and like many Collingwood contracts is back-ended to ease the current cap squeeze.
It means if he did move on it would help the Pies retain some of their current stars including Jordan De Goey, with Darcy Moore recently re-signed and Brodie Grundy about to start a seven-season contract.
Collingwood is in the market for a hybrid forward and will remain aggressive in the trade market, with Tom Phillips on the table.
But trading Treloar would make less sense from a football point of view given he remains one of their most dynamic and consistent midfielders in a team where Scott Pendlebury will turn 33 in January.
He remains a solid citizen who is extremely popular with the players at Collingwood, which invested heavily in him to bring him back from Greater Western Sydney.
Speaking about his future earlier this week, Treloar told Fox Footy:
“Firstly, I never considered going anywhere and I never would.
“I’m a contracted player at the Collingwood Football Club and there’s a reason why I moved to Victoria to play for Collingwood.
“The most disappointing thing over the last 24 hours for me and my family is Kimmy didn’t get to break the story herself, which is really disappointing.
“The story should be about her and how she’s been able to come back and get to where she’s got to now – and that is signing a contract to play her professional sport.

“She made a huge sacrifice for us, as a family, to start our family in the middle of the prime of her career.
“We chose to have a child and she sacrificed her body for that. The sacrifice for me is something extremely small.
“Realistically, Kim probably has two/three years of really good netball in her, because we want to keep going with our family.
