The SuperFooty Brownlow Predictor is live.

And you don’t need to look very far to find a few surprises.

While Lachie Neale (currently $1.25 favourite with TAB) finishes the count six votes clear, it is the fight for second and the race at club land where the real action is.

Check out the predictor below and scroll down to see some of the things that caught our eye.

WILL THERE BE MORE DUSTY LOVE?

Watch out for known polling machine Dustin Martin.

While the Tiger has slipped down a few tally boards, we have him pegged for a huge night and running second to Neale.

Martin has polled a whopping 124 votes in the past five years. That is an average of clearly more than a vote per game.

Last year, outside of Martin, the next best Tigers were Bachar Houli, Dion Prestia and Trent Cotchin.

All three missed extended periods of the 2020 season.

That leaves Dusty competing with the likes of Jayden Short and Shai Bolton for top honours. We think the umpires will reward the face they know.

HOW WELL WILL WALSH POLL?

There is no denying Patrick Cripps had a down year compared to his usual lofty standards.

But is there a new top Blue in town?

Bookmakers have instilled young gun Sam Walsh favourite to take out Carlton’s leading vote getter market.

However, we don’t see it. SuperFooty has Cripps edging Walsh by seven votes. Who will be proved right?

HOW WILL THE NEW FACES GO?

Sometimes it takes a couple of years for a player to truly get the recognition he deserves from the umpires.

This year’s biggest ones to watch here will be Christian Petracca and Jack Steele.

Arguably the two most improved players in the competition, SuperFooty has the Demon on 20 votes and the Saint on 21.

However, neither player has a strong polling history.

Petracca has five votes for his career and hasn’t had his name called out on Brownlow night since Round 2, 2018.

Steele also has five votes for his career, and hasn’t polled three votes in a game since 2017.

Is it fraught with danger to expect them to jump into the high teens and 20s this year? Or have they been so good the umpires simply couldn’t have missed them?

IS DANGER IN DANGER?

He has owned the Geelong vote count since he arrived at the Cats.

But is this the year Patrick Dangerfield gets swallowed up?

If we’d told you that at the start of the season, you would have thought it would be Joel Selwood or even Jack Steven making a serious charge up the leaderboard.

However, it is a couple of big improvers who are putting the pressure on Danger.

Sam Menegola had a brilliant year and is right in the mix to pull off an upset.

Watch for Cam Guthrie to have a big night too.
