Port Adelaide AFL games record holder Travis Boak says he doesn’t know whether he will play on in 2025.

The Power began exit meetings after its season ended on Friday night at the hands of Sydney in the preliminary final.

Boak, 36, is out of contract and said at Alberton on Monday he would weigh up his future.

“We will just have a chat and a general conversation and we will have a bit to think about and we will go from there,” he said.

“Honestly I don’t know. The hurt from Friday night is still going through my head, I’ll have a think over the next week or so and we will go from there.”

Boak played 23 games for the Power this year on the wing, averaging 18 disposals and five marks per game.

The Power have said it would give Boak and fellow out of contract veteran Charlie Dixon time to make decisions on their futures.

Dixon was also at Alberton on Monday and when asked if he knew what next year looked like for him he said “not yet mate, still working through it”.

Francis Evans, Kyle Marshall, Tom McCallum, Trent McKenzie, Quinton Narkle and Tom Scully are also out of contract.

The Power are in the hunt for GWS pair Harry Perryman and Isaac Cumming and will go head-to-head with the Crows for the latter and Gold Coast forward Jack Lukosius.

“Had a catch up with the medical team and a few scans to get but it is looking solid, pretty good signs I think,” he said.

“Sort of take it easy and then build back up but it looks like I don’t need any surgery which is a big positive.

“It is not certain yet but it is pretty relieving to hear that I have drawn the good straw and I can get ready for next year.

“My groins got a bit better towards the back end of the season but my shin was playing up there, lot of bone stress but finals is a big time of year so I had to push through.

“Unfortunately we didn’t get the result we wanted but now we have a good chance to recover and get right and get ready for next year.”

The gun defender is out of contract at the end of next season and while it has been expected that Victorian clubs have a red-hot crack at bringing him back to Melbourne, Bergman said he was loving his time at Alberton.

“Yeah definitely, love this club and I think we are going really well,” he said.

“It was unfortunate (the loss to Sydney) but we are still a young group and I think we have so much to give and I’m excited about what we have to show.”
