YOUNG Hawk Blake Hardwick has some big shoes to fill in 2018.

The 20-gamer has inherited Luke Hodge’s famous No.15 after the former skipper decided to play out his final years in Brisbane.

In his second season Hardwick played 19 games and is a key part of Alastair Clarkson’s rebuild.

Kieren Lovell has moved up to No.21 from 36 and ruckman Marc Pittonet has taken No.27 after wearing 43 last year.

Meanwhile, St Kilda has rested Nick Riewoldt’s No.12 but Leigh Montagna was only too happy to pass on his No.11.

Former Hawk Billy Hartung has been handed No.39 after wearing No.4 for the majority of his time at Waverley.

Earlier in the week, Carlton wasted no time handing its teenage recruits high jumper numbers.

The Blues gave Paddy Dow the No.2 guernsey worn by legendary midfielder Greg Williams, and fellow top-10 draft pick Lochie O’Brien has inherited Bryce Gibbs’ No.4.

The number was also worn by club legends Stephen Kernahan and Peter Bosustow.
