WEST Coast is facing a fight to retain star defender Jeremy McGovern, with one Victorian club offering the free agent a stunning six-year deal worth more than $7 million.
McGovern, an All-Australian in each of the past two years, is attracting widespread rival attention is a restricted free agent at seasons end.
The Herald Sun understands three Melbourne-based clubs are circling the marking sensation, with one tabling the enormous six-year contract worth nearly $1.2 million a season.

With Gold Coast gun Tom Lynch, 25, also on the market, the future of McGovern, also 25, future has taken something of a back seat.
The Eagles obviously want to keep him and were last month reported to have put a five year deal worth $4 million in front of their man.
Born in Western Australia, McGovern is expected to decide in the coming days whether or not to delay contract talks until the end of the season.
His brother Mitch last year endured a season of speculation before signing a three-year contract extension with Adelaide.
