DARCY Moore will remain a Magpie, but popular full back Tyson Goldsack could still be squeezed out of Collingwood despite his remarkable return to football.
Moore is set to sign a new two-year contract in coming days with the Pies suddenly blessed with tall defensive options and still in the market for either Gold Coast’s Steven May or Western Bulldog Marcus Adams.
Moore’s management said the 22-year-old would stay at Collingwood after an impasse dating back to January when the Pies first offered him a two-season deal.

Teammate Tom Langdon has also agreed to terms with a new deal to be announced in coming days.
Jamie Elliott will also remain at the club on a one-year deal after persistent hamstring issues which meant he didn’t play a senior game.
The Pies believe Elliott’s hamstring surgery was a complete success, identifying the cause of his recurring issues and believing he will be able to move past his soft-tissue concerns.
The pair also have the option of joining the long line of players to travel to Germany to meet hamstring expert Dr Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfarth.
But while Goldsack was optimistic during the finals about securing another one-year deal, his manager Anthony McConville told the Herald Sun he did not have that certainty yet.
He is hopeful the Pies will offer the fan favourite a deal but is aware nothing has yet been promised by Collingwood.
Fellow full back Lynden Dunn has agreed to terms for a one-year deal, while another McConville client Brody Mihocek has a two-year deal in front of him but with a modest financial return.
“We will have further conversations on Friday regarding Goldy,” McConville said.
“There is nothing in concrete at this time and I am not sure where that is going to land. I don’t know where Collingwood sits there and there are a lot of moving parts.
“I don’t know the specifics other than I don’t have anything positive from them at this point.”
Goldsack defied all conventional wisdom regarding returns from ACL ruptures this year when he returned to the team for the finals after a March 10 injury.
If Moore remains at the club as a key defender and the Pies add to their key position stocks by drafting father-son prospect and key position defender Will Kelly, Goldsack will be pushed down the pecking order.
May’s manager Alex McDonald said with his client having met Melbourne and Collingwood he would have a decision by the start of the trade period.
Defender Levi Greenwood told the Herald Sun in Grand Final week he was desperate to stay at the Pies, with manager McDonald telling SEN everything looked “positive”.
“We will sit down once they get through reviews this week, we will sit down with the club and work through Levi’s situation,’’ he said.
“That looks positive at this stage. I think it is just a case of finding time to sit down with the club now and nut it out.”
