The granddaughter of Bombers legend Jack Jones, together with fellow commentators Kelli Underwood and Neroli Meadows, will helm Fox Footy’s new all-female show, On the Mark, which will focus on the more human side of the game.

“My sisters love footy, my friends love footy, so I don’t think of myself as representing a minority; I am representing the majority of Australian women who love this game,” Jones said.

“The show will delve into the more personal side of these players. They’re not robots. We mostly see them for just two hours a week out on the field. You only really get glimpses of their personality, but they are also fathers and husbands. This show will give us a chance to really explore what makes these men tick.”

Jones will also host three days of footy coverage for the pay-TV sports channel.

“When I started out, there were a few women sports journalists on TV, but they mostly played secondary roles,” she said. “I never could have envisaged that I would be able to play the hosting role.”

On the Mark starts on March 28.
