Collingwood will continue to closely monitor Jamie Elliott’s hamstrings after the injury-prone small forward failed to complete a training session earlier this week.
The Magpies have brushed off Elliott’s early departure from the track during the club’s final pre-Christmas session on Tuesday as precautionary and expect the 26-year-old to resume training as normal next month.

The scare came just weeks after Elliott returned from Germany, where he and teammate Darcy Moore went to see a hamstring specialist in a bid to overcome their persistent soft tissue injuries.
Elliott did not play a game in 2016 due to a serious back injury and — after returning to play 17 matches in 2017 — missed the whole of last season with hamstring and ankle complaints.
Meanwhile, St Kilda says recruit Dan Hannebery will also be back for Day 1 of pre-season training next month after similarly pulling up tight in his hamstrings after a big session this week.
Scans cleared Hannebery of any damage, the Saints insisting the issue “won’t affect him at all”.
