Development and education coach Aaron Greaves also parted ways with the club towards the end of the season.

List chief Michael McMahon, who arrived at the club from Geelong Cats, will leave at the end of the exchange period.

McMahon arrived at the club in 2016 but the Roos have been unable to land a big-name star recruit in-line with its strategy over the past three years.

North Melbourne’s new footy boss Brady Rawlings is orchestrating the changes while he continues in his role as West Coast list manager.

FAVOURITE SON VINEY TO DEE-PART

Key Melbourne official Todd Viney will depart the Demons after nine years at the club.

The former club captain has made the call to leave AAMI Park at the end of November to pursue his own business interests.

The Herald Sun understands Viney, 53, will help the Demons through the trade and draft periods and then return to the family farm.

Viney joined the club in 2010 to take up a key role in the football department and filled various roles at Melbourne including list management, player development and interim coach in 2011.

Highly respected around the club, Viney played a role in helping lift the club out of the darkest period in its history in 2013 when Melbourne won only two games.

In recent years, he provided support for players and coaches and was a sounding board for key figures including senior coach Simon Goodwin, former fitness boss David Misson and national recruiting manager Jason Taylor.

But Viney, who is a Team of the Century member and won two best and fairests at the club, has decided it is time to move on. His son Jack is co-captain of the club.

His exit is part of sweeping change at the club which includes the departure of key assistant coaches Brendan McCartney, Craig Jennings and Jade Rawlings.

Misson has also been replaced by former Port fitness boss Darren Burgess.

Melbourne will also consider replacing veteran Nathan Jones as co-captain.

Star ruckman Max Gawn has been touted as a likely replacement for Jones if Melbourne stick with the dual captain arrangement.
