ONE footy fan’s thrill of taking a spectacular mark on the MCG has been soured after he fell heavily, needing assistance from the field after his epic hanger.
The fan was taking part in a Melbourne Football Club initiative, called Hogan’s Heroes, where fans are picked to try to haul in spectacular marks.
The event was run at quarter-time of Tuesday night’s Anzac eve clash between Melbourne and Richmond.
Fans at the ground laughed, while others were concerned, after the high-leaping fan fell awkwardly, briefly laying motionless after dragging in a superb mark.
“We have an injury ladies and gentlemen,” former Demon Russell Robertson, who was MC during the contest, can be heard telling the MCG crowd.
Vision later showed the man walking from the ground, assisted by a concerned Demons staff member.
Fingers crossed he’s OK — and can remember his on-field efforts.
Hope we have plenty of Zurich insurance for that Hogan's Heroes segment. That bloke was out cold. #afldeestigers #raisehell
