RICHMOND superstar Dustin Martin is closing in on the number one spot in the Herald Sun Super Rankings after a dominant display against cellar-dwellers Brisbane.

The Brownlow Medallist spent most of his time up forward in the Tigers’ drubbing and was unstoppable, finishing with 17 possessions, 10 score involvements and six inside 50s to go with his six goal haul. His best-on-ground performance saw him firm with TAB as the Brownlow Medal favourite, shortening to $3.

Dusty is breathing down the neck of ball-magnet Tom Mitchell, who remains at the top of the rankings despite a disappointing outing by his lofty standards. He still managed to collect 25 disposals and a game-high 13 clearances on Sunday despite close checking from Melbourne captain Nathan Jones.
