JUST how observant were you during Round 14?

We all watched the Roos come out on top in a classic with the Bulldogs, Melbourne drop another game on the big stage, Charlie Curnow take hangers for fun and Essendon keep its season alive with a stunning upset over the Eagles.

But did you also catch a few of the off-Broadway highlights from the weekend?

VIDEO: THE MOST INSPIRING GOAL OF THE YEAR

From some fired up footballers on social media to interesting tales from training camps of yesteryear and everything in-between, here are the 10 things you may have missed in Round 14.

‘PISS OFF’: JACK’S NOT HAPPY

Richmond star and occasional lead singer for the Killers Jack Riewoldt is one of many proud Tasmanians in the AFL.

In fact, earlier this year the key forward was inducted into the Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame.

So when TV journalist Tom Browne questioned the worth of a potential AFL team in the region, Riewoldt wasn’t about to sit on his hands. Instead, he used them to tweet.

Browne originally tweeted:

Although Riewoldt was enjoying his bye weekend, he wasn’t about to stand for that.

The official crowd for Saturday’s game was 9007.

‘GEEZ, I WISH I WAS OUT THERE’

GWS forward Jeremy Cameron can expect to spend some time on the sidelines for his massive hit on Harris Andrews on Saturday afternoon.

Following the bump which left their star defender concussed, Brisbane players wasted no time getting into Cameron, with plenty of push and shove out on the field.

But there was one other man who was chomping at the bit to be out there during all the action.

Following Cameron’s hit, Mitch Robinson tweeted:

The Gabba crowd did its best to put the heat on Cameron, booing him relentlessly every time he touched the ball throughout the afternoon.

WHAT ARE BROTHERS FOR?

Lucky Lewis Taylor is good at footy. Because his skills as a hairdresser need a little work.

Just ask his brother, who got this cut from Taylor late last year.

Taylor was quizzed about the chop on the weekend, which was the definition of a reverse mullet.

“When the two younger brothers come up we muck up a bit. We thought we’d give him a, I don’t know what the haircut is called.

“He loves getting up here. What are brothers for? It was a bit of a laugh.”

WHEN YOU’VE GOT TO GO

After another heartbreaking loss, we may have found something to put a smile of the faces of Western Bulldogs fans.

Rising Dog Toby McLean on Friday recounted the hilarious story of what happens when someone needs a bathroom break in the middle of the Grand Final parade.

McLean was riding in a car with teammate Dale Morris, who had his two young children Riley and Charlie with him.

“They’ve obviously hydrated throughout the morning. I was hydrating as well so I had my bottle there,” he explained.

“You’re in the middle of the road. There is a big gap between where the crowd is. You’d have to get through a bit of crowd to find some (toilets).”

Unfortunately for young Charlie, the lack of a visible bathroom meant that it was time to think outside the box, or water bottle as it were.

“I had to finish my water. I panicked a bit. Is this actually happening? It took me a while to realise that this was happening.

“Dale got his big rig around him so no one could really see and no one knew until he told the story.

‘THEY’RE HALF-CUT’: BT

It was a party atmosphere inside the Port Adelaide rooms on Friday night after the Power stole a win against Melbourne to rocket into top four calculations.

There was plenty for Roaming Brian to sink his teeth into post-match, with David Koch even taking over at one point for some Roaming Kochie.

With the rooms almost overflowing with people, BT offered up this take on what it was like inside the inner sanctum.

“There’s strange people in here. There is sort of people wandering around and they are sort of, half-cut. I’m not quite sure where these people have come from or who they are.”

THEY DON’T MAKE PRE-SEASON CAMPS LIKE THEY USED TO

If the Adelaide Crows think their pre-season camp was tough, they should have tried getting through one with Dermott Brereton.

While on Fox Footy on Saturday night, the Hawthorn champion recounted an interesting story from a club camp during his playing days.

“Johnny Platten, we held him underneath … held him in a mud pit underneath the surface for about 15 seconds, dragged him up … then we put him back down again. It was hilarious, except for John.

“Anyway, you know what. We won the premiership (that year).”

WATCH YOUR HEAD WITH MAX GAWN

Life among the giants can be pretty tough.

Just ask Max Gawn who gave an insight into what it’s like when your club books you into a hotel with low ceilings.

Unfortunately for big Max, the Demons will be back in Adelaide when they take on the Crows in Round 19.

He may have to start stretching now.

NOW THAT IS A TOUGH WIND TO MASTER

If you’ve ever watched a game being played in Launceston and wondered why it hasn’t been a great spectacle, we finally have the answer.

With both Hawthorn and Gold Coast struggling to find the middle of the big sticks on Saturday afternoon, St Kilda great Nick Riewoldt gave an interesting insight into why the flukey wind was so hard to master.

“Both teams are kicking into it,” he declared.

Is that even possible? As a proud Tasmanian, Nick would know!

‘BLOODY IDIOT’ LEAVES MOONS FUMING

It was the biggest talking point from a massive weekend of footy.

How many weeks would Jeremy Cameron get for his hit on Harris Andrews?

Fox Footy’s Cameron Mooney got the early scoop, getting to talk to Cameron after the game.

However, it was clear not everyone was impressed, with a member of the Gabba ground staff refusing to move during the interview.

Mooney was clearly frustrated, later posting on social media:

‘IT WOULD BE HILARIOUS’

How many Kangaroos will make the All-Australian side this year?

Shaun Higgins is a lock, while ruckman Todd Goldstein has thrown his support behind underrated duo Ben Cunnington and Robbie Tarrant.

However, there is a slightly different reason Goldstein would like to see Cunnington get the nod on the night.

“Ben Cunnington, he hates the spotlight and I’d love to see him actually have to get on stage and maybe get interviewed because it would be hilarious seeing him try to shy away from that one,” Goldstein said on AFL Nation.

After another 30 possession game on Saturday night, Goldy may get his wish.
