AFL tips Round 17: North Melbourne set to move closer to finals appearance, Collingwood given little hope in west

North Melbourne sat 17th after Round 9, three games and significant percentage outside the top eight.

But from a perilous position, caretaker Roos coach Rhyce Shaw has the club on the cusp of the top-eight and dreaming of a finals berth.

North Melbourne is 10th heading into Round 17, one game behind Port Adelaide (seventh), Adelaide (eighth) and Essendon (ninth).

If the Roos can defeat the Bombers this weekend, the groundswell of support for Shaw to be appointed coach with reach fever pitch.

And most of our expert tipsters think North Melbourne are indeed a Shaw thing.
