West Coast will be sweating on the fitness of key forward Josh Kennedy after he was ruled out midway through Thursday’s clash with North Melbourne due to an ankle issue.
The Eagles spearhead was forced from the field in the first half at Metricon Stadium after a marking contest.
Eagles coach Adam Simpson said Kennedy’s ankle had become swollen during halftime, although he hadn’t felt any pain.

However, the decision was made in the third quarter for Kennedy to not return to the game, with ice being applied to the ankle.
He is set to be in a race against time to be fit for the Eagles’ first final in two weeks and joins a West Coast casualty room that also includes stars Elliot Yeo and Jeremy McGovern.
