AFL games record-holder Brent Harvey has floated the idea of trading fan favourite Cyril Rioli at the end of the season. “Would they consider trading one of their best players of all time?” Harvey said on the TV show Future Stars. He only needs nine possessions per game and couple that with all the other things he does, he’s a superstar I’m not debating that. “You’ve got to give something up to get something.” Hawthorn was widely criticised for trading premiership heroes Mitchell to West Coats and Lewis to Melbourne in the latter stages of their careers, but both deals now appear masterstrokes that helped deliver Tom Mitchell and Jaeger O’Meara. Rioli, who has played 189 games and kicked 275 goals for Hawthorn, is sidelined for 5-6 weeks with a medial ligament injury.
