DUSTIN Martin scored three Brownlow Medal votes in Round 17 despite recording 18 ineffective kicks. It’s no surprise Martin features in the 20 quirkiest stats from the past season.

DUSTIN Martin had the football world debating the merits of his best-on-ground performance against Essendon in Round 17.

Even though the Richmond midfielder was awarded three Brownlow Medal votes, the match is now infamous for Martin being ignored by former Carlton great Mark Maclure in his media votes.

Martin starred with 43 disposals but had 18 ineffective kicks, the highest ever recorded by Champion Data.

It is no surprise Martin features in the 20 quirkiest stats from the 2016 season.
