ROOKIE Magpie Adam Oxley will make his AFL debut against Melbourne tomorrow, after Jamie Elliott was ruled out with hamstring tightness.
Elliott left the track after just 20 minutes of Collingwood’s final training session today ahead of tomorrow’s Queens Birthday clash with Melbourne.
Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley said Elliott had been in doubt for most of the week.
"We’ll manage Jamie, we have done so through the week , we were leaving it until the last minute to make a call,’’ Buckley said.
"He’s a bit tight through the hammies…We go out with a really competitive 22 and we get a chance to expose another one of our young rookies who’s done extremely well.’’
Buckley said Oxley had played through the wing and off half back.
"His competitiveness, his ability to win the ball in the air and his kicking are his main attributes,’’ he said
